Type of Therapy

Family and Systemic Psychotherapy for Adults, children and families.

About Me & How I Work

I am a qualified psychotherapist, registered with the UK Council of Psychotherapy. I support adults, children, young people and families and have over 12 years’ experience working with and in social care, CAMHS and school settings using systemic and trauma informed practice.

Systemic psychotherapy focuses not only on an individual but the patterns and processes that occur in our relationships and interactions with others. There is an emphasis on strengths, resilience and what or who might contribute to the functioning of our systems. Systemic psychotherapy can help develop greater compassion towards ourselves, reduce conflict and improve our communication with those around us. It is suitable for individuals, as well as couples or families of all ages. The length of therapy can vary from short term to long term.

I believe therapy can offer a safe, non-judgemental space to learn more about ourselves, how we experience the world and explore any challenges we may be dealing with. I am a black cis woman with a particular interest in collaborative, creative, anti- discriminatory and culturally sensitive approaches. I welcome and respect the individuality and unique experiences that each client brings with them to therapy.

In addition to my private practice, I currently work in a local authority setting and lead a therapeutic team that aims to prevent children and young people from being excluded from school. As part of this role, I manage high levels of risk, provide support to children and their parents and carers, offer family therapy, and deliver trauma informed training to school staff.
