About Me & How I Work

Coronavirus is naturally triggering anxieties and worries for many of us. Whether it’s health worries or concerns about self-isolating, you may benefit from having a space that is yours, to talk through how you are feeling and the challenges you are facing.

So, during this difficult time, I am offering mobile phone and video based counselling. All you need is a phone and a private place to talk from. I am also making early morning and evening appointments available to support you if you have children home from school.

At times, life can feel hard to manage. When this happens, it helps to have a space where we can be listened to and met, just as we are, with the sole goal of making sense of what's happening for us. You may be feeling anxious, stuck, lost, trapped or hopeless. Or just like there's something missing but you can't quite put your finger on it. Maybe something has happened which has left you reeling but when you try and talk to friends and family, they see it as normal and every day - something you should "just be able to cope with". Or perhaps you are feeling isolated and alone, unable to engage with loved ones, overwhelmed by routine and responsibility or feeling like you have to look fine and be strong for everyone around you.

Your life doesn’t have to stay feeling like this.

We all deserve to feel happy, useful, calm and in control. Coming to understand ourselves better through therapy can be the key to unlocking peace for ourselves. I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor in advanced ongoing clinical training. Using Relational Transactional Analysis (TA), I create a warm, safe space for you to unpack your world, explore what's happening for you today and those factors from the past which may be disrupting your inner peace and happiness. Together, we can work through difficult feelings of grief, shame, anger, sadness and regret in a confidential and safe environment so you can feel hopeful, lighter, calmer and more centred.

My work is governed by the BACP ethical code. I receive regular, robust supervision from a highly qualified and experienced supervisor.

You may be feeling guilty, selfish, not good enough or even not unwell enough to come to counselling. But everyone deserves to be heard. We all deserve to feel at peace. We need to take care of ourselves so we can start to be available for others. I understand that picking up the phone to call a therapist for the first time can feel hard and even overwhelming. So either call or email me, whichever feels easier for you.
